Message:We ran the first test of the rulez, trying to establish some norms. I must admit I felt we were all doomed. Our first action was to watch a weakling character suicide into a glade, missing over twenty rolls and dying (horribly). But in his death we did pocket our first silver coins. After that, we all survived and completed our first adventure against a Demonic Child.
Roho took damage constantly but was barely injured by the end. My rolls were good. I even had a run of Overkill results (in combat) that allowed me to use my seven Stat STR to cover a number of times for others in battle. Squires, as well, did the same in the endgame climax. We fought our 2D4 rounds and survived to gain the treasure and reward.
We only got to explore half the sites of interest in the two and half hours and there was little narrative of the overall theme. Mike would have hated the lack of plot but reveled in the lawyering over the rolls. It is a roll Stat baseline, dice heavy experience.
I had fun. Small tweaks and we will try again next week to kill Wraith (Elemental, Arcane, Gut-Spill, Decay) – Person of great power and evil that refused to die. It exists as a rotting visage of human form. Often convincing the wraith that in fact it has died is the key to defeating the creature.
See you there or perhaps I will record?
Yours,
IronRed
