Message:When I taught my high school film class, I used The Matrix as an exemplar for Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey. It is such a near-perfect representation of the monomyth that when Mike and I first saw it, I forget which one of us (probably Mike) turned to the other and said "He IS the Kwisatz Haderach!".
It's also stupid, pretty fun and was the first indicator that Keanu would become the best action movie hero ever.
