Message:Type I civilization is able to access all the energy available on its planet and store it for consumption. Hypothetically, they should also be able to control natural events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, weather, etc.
Type II civilization can directly consume a star's energy, most likely through the use of a Dyson sphere, encasing the local star.
Type III civilization is able to capture all the energy emitted by its galaxy, and every object within it, including the black holes. Big ones at center are truly spectacular.
Era Ten is stuck in Type I. There is no Dyson Sphere during the next millennium. Yet when will that MRD be produced? Soon. My timeline from 1980 has also been stunted by our real lack of interest and funding. Cyberspace and dream-space captivate the young. NASA has truly been a lump of clay post Challenger, if not even before that, when Man Orbiting Laboratory (MOL) was cancelled. My first desk as an engineer was in a repurposed MOL building at SLC-6. One wall was cabinets of storage of the mothballed designs.
Playing catch-up, the capitalists, like Space-X, are doing rather well.
Yours,
