Sad that our Experts are so ... below average ....
Mearls is the only one in the group I could even consider a modest talent and he's the only guy in the video that can't figure out how to set up his camera. I see him as a low level manager hanging on by saying yes to whatever his bosses want ... the only adult in the room.
He did have the smarts to smile when he took a 40 year old game and didn't screw it up too bad. We have marketing studies that say people like to roll dice. Ya think? I believe his background is in computer science so my guess is he knows a thing or three. They could have taken Gygax's text and left it alone. Change the font, throw in some new art and it would have sold (especially after the debacle when they tried to make WoW ... but didn't ... but ... of course they did ... but didn't.)
The rest are just aping the noise they get off the internet. Look I can make 57 fart noises out of my mouth ... your mother must be proud.
Koevel, the dude with the pink hair, has already been cancelled by the Interwebz for going a little too far in one of his on-line games. I prefer to not kick a dude when he's down. Get some help young man (and a hair cut ... well maybe a little glancing kick just to let him know we care).
Colville and Mercer are still the one trick guys. Good luck to them. Colville does have a few talented people working with him keeping his product on track. In this video, he was smart enough to know he just had some good fortune and was trying to be humble. I do like that he talks fast.
I don't mind the method actors so much but .... I really don't want to game with them. Does religion of diversity require I game with people that bore me?
They lament there is no true test of who wins a game based on story telling? Well ... go back and make some real rules.
They lament that the world is bland but any unacceptable idea will get you swarmed by the mob. Tolkien it is then.
In the end, lots of blah blah and no do do. Well, I guess there was do do but it was a different kind of do do.
