Heritage Models had a figure fighting game with roll D12 and subtract a D4. It generates a range with some slight skewing of the middle numbers. Not really enough variance to make that arithmetic worthwhile, but at least they were trying not to be strictly DnD.
The eleven occurs once every forty-eight rolls as does the minus three. Stupid is as stupid does. The guy selling the product was a master. Praising each buyer as he emptied their wallet. Never have more than three colors on any figure. He turned a basic figure pushing exercise into a grand introduction for a tourney. I left, having other things to see.
Overall, GenCon East in New Jersey was a delight. Met M.A.R. Barker. Another great showman. Can no longer recall who made that trip with me? Moser? Gelman? Delgiorno? Phillips?
I do recall a $40 vacation in Hatteras that was perfect and generated two forever quotes, "No Cold Sho-Doo" and "Dude, Is that my Hat?"
I wax nostalgic, as the elderly do. Back to adding terrors to Constantinople for Weds.
