Whatever anyone wants to play is fine. I don't have to play it.
I mean, I don't understand why anyone would want to watch a bunch of other people play baseball, which is really boring to watch.
But, back to the plant game. mechanics seems fine. It's just resource management. Arrange your stuff well and you get more tokens. The game "color" could be anything.
After scanning the rulebook, this game could be adapted, without actually changing any of the rules, into something like "Build your Fortress." Instead of the room cards you'd have... No, wait, you'd have room cards, but, maybe, instead of sunlight, they're rated be fields of fire. Turn the plants into your armory (since there are pot bonuses for plants) and the pet icons into castle staff.
It's just placing stuff on a 5x3 grid for points. Could be anything. Or, place stuff on a 5x5 grid and make a delvers map...
Frankly this is more interesting and innovative to me than "Dead Italian Actors Slap Everything TWO!" as mentioned in another thread. A 2D beat 'em up based around two dead actors? Maybe I'll just install MAME and "Double Dragon 2" and play the same game for free.
