Message:Don't shoot the messenger. I like PBS. I watch the News Hour and my election coverage there.
The reporting seems valid. It mentioned WotC need to monetize. It offered an online Critical Role celebrity (black lesbian) of 5e's changing view; it talked of other games like Monte Cooke going agnostic and classless. He's a D&D authority, cause he is in the canon. Mentioned Gygax was man of a past age, a "biological determinist." That's a nature not nurture view.
All the reporting seems valid.
Even the quote “ 'But for every two steps forward, they take one step back,' Trammell said, citing a recent publication’s inclusion of a simian race of humanoids reminiscent of old minstrel shows." Guy is UC Irvine professor and that's what journalist do--quote intellectuals--for gravitas. His run to hyperbole on the underlining significance is wrong legally and not expressly stated in text as Minstrel -- but Trammell gave his quote and clutched his pearls. Box checked.
Your hate of the subject is fine, but why waste vitriol on the agency reporting.
With 2.6 billion sales in the pandemic year -- That's serious capitalism. Stalin would not role-play. Our market is to the age 18 in 1994 crowd. Zoomers don't rock. I'd make more of a joke of this, but it would be tasteless for our age and this forum.
Opinions expressed are not those of me, SG or Conrad. But the hobby is as the hobby emotes. We saw the enemy in 1994 and did not crush it then. That piece in Madagascar cashed cards.
Yours,
IronRed
