Message:I hate those mechanics. I can't wrap my head around them. The action you need is never listed as a option. The actions listed are too mundane. The combat is shot and die, little else, no nuance. Mythos is too bleak and has no advancement system to encourage series play. It's rather flawed. I understand the genre is popular, but for the love of all gaming, why Chaosium system? Just use Guns, Guns, Guns as simplicity if you need something to reflect randomness. Play diceless (though I dislike that too).
I also wish I could see Mike or the Ref fail those rolls. Would have given me more confidence. I wish everyone could have seen me make so many rolls. That will never occur again. Everytime I click a roll in Roll20 (secretly) I heard a beep in Skype, so it's not really hiding the idea of stealth rolls?
Tasha, if you need a copy of Where Fools Dare to Tread, let me know. It's actually pretty good for this style play, and the Character Buzzwords give a practical reason why some people panic around Slug Gods and some don't. Ask Mike, he helped with design. If you want me to run a session to see the system, just ask.
Otherwise, back to Outlands next Weds. More demons and boats. I will look like a copycat and do not care. You might as well copy what works.
Yours,
IronRed
